At West Coast Jumps we are fanatics about horses and jumping. Riding over fences is more than a sport, it is an art, and we love everything about it. That passion shows in the jumps we design and carefully build using strong, quality materials. We have personally designed and tested every jump we sell--we’ve built courses for show and training, we’ve transported the jumps across the state and carried them around more arenas than we care to count, and jumped them from the back of everything from pre-green hunters to Grand Prix mounts. Whenever we found a weakness in a jump design--no matter how small--we went back to the drawing board and revised our blueprints, changing and improving the design. This ten-year evolution has resulted in making West Coast Jumps the best obstacles around at the best price!

The appearance of our jumps is classic, designed with a eye to the roots of the sport. Painted white, the picket gates look as fresh as a New England morning. The brush box stuffed with evergreen boughs would be at home in an Irish field. Painted with colorful stripes, our dowelled poles could grace the Grand Prix course at Wembley. The wall base painted as stone is straight from the Virginia hunt fields. Riding horses is about style grace and harmony and so our jumps are lovingly built to complement your arena or show.

Construction
Attention to detail is why our jumps will prove to be a good investment for you. We pride ourselves on using just the right fastener for each function, and only the best type of wood for each design, to make these jumps strong and long-lasting. We use galvanized bolts and screws to resist rusting. Only expensive pressure-treated wood is used on our wall bases and selected standards, so they resist rotting and decay, keeping your jumps attractive, solid, and safer for horse and rider. Extensive testing led us to use only 1/2” plywood on our walls; that thickness is strong, without being so heavy that moving the jumps is difficult.

Safety
The safety of you and your horses is also one of our chief concerns. The tops of all our standards are beveled, removing square, sharp edges. Our 5’3” post standards are designed with a brace on their inside legs, which enables gates or panels to be knocked down flat, instead of hanging at an angle which can trap a horse. This enables you to position brush boxes and walls directly between the standards; other designs force you to position them in front of the standards, sometimes making the jump wider than it should be.
